of Indianapolis, passed away on December 9, 2014. Mrs. Blackwell was born to Tetty and Mamie Rutledge, the fifth of six children. She was a lifelong member of Coppin Chapel AME Church and a 1940 graduate of Crispus Attucks High School. She retired from the Marion County Welfare Dept. after 30 years of service. She was also an instructor at the Madame C.J. Walker Beauty School. She is survived by her sister, Doris Stevenson; nieces, Carole Stevenson and Ann (Harold) Snow; nephews, Howard (Norma) Stevenson and John Rutledge; great-nieces, Tracy (Alec) Hibbler, Shelley and Gail Hickman, Kimberley (Trevor) Murray, Jacquese Rutledge; great-nephews, Jason (Brenda) Rutledge and Chris Snow.
