Mary Pat Flynn, the daughter of Edward J. Flynn and Eleanora F. Flynn, passed away on January 14th, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the city of her birth.
Pat graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associates degree, serving as a Legal Assistant with Barnes and Thornburg for almost 43 years. She was a traveler, enjoying trips to England, Ireland, France, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, and most recently, Italy. Pat was athletic and enjoyed competitive swimming and bowling in her youth, then other adventures as she grew older: zip lining through a tropical rain forest, walking across the Sidney Harbor Bridge, and scaling down the side of a 30-story office building. Pat was also very generous: the first one to respond to a need, sign up for a charitable walkathon, or donate to a cause. Pat was an avid cook, often catering weddings and other family events. Pat was not only a Great Aunt, she was the greatest aunt, sister, friend, and co-worker. She was a fierce, formidable, force of nature who was also loyal, compassionate, generous, and understanding.
Mary Pat is survived by her sisters Noreen (Paul) Tasker, Elizabeth (Robert) Wilson, and Jennifer (Scott) Fulton; and her brothers Joseph (Kathy) Flynn, Michael Flynn, Dennis Flynn, Robert (Carol) Flynn, and Daniel (Debbie) Flynn; 17 nieces and nephews; and 8 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held at Christ the King Church, 5884 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220, from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. on January 26th, 2019, starting with a Rosary led by a family member. A Mass of Christian Burial begins at 12:00 P.M, followed immediately by a Peace Meal at Tuohy Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia Foundation are welcome.
