Mary Ellen Shattuck O'Connor, 79, passed away peacefully at home on January 13th, 2016 after a year long, courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ellen was born in New Winchester, Indiana on a the family farm, graduated from Broad Ripple High School & William Woods Collage. she was a DAR Member for 59 years and also a Red Cross Volunteer for many years. She worked for JC Penney for 25 years. Mary Ellen was married to her high school sweetheart Michael, for 49 years. He preceded her in death in 2006. Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Petry (James), Jennifer Baker, and Kathleen Harris; 5 grandchildren; 3 great- grandkids; sisters, Judy Ann Fuller (Gene), Josephine Lovell (John); brothers, Dan Shattuck (RuthAnn), Mark Shattuck (Luisa), and brother-in-law, Terry O'Connor (adelle). We would like to give a special thanks to Chris Davis of St. Vincent's Hospice for taking such special care of our mother.
