

Micheal attended St. Engelbert Catholic Elementary School and graduated from the prestigious St. Louis University Jesuit High School both in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating, he studied at Washington University, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Louisiana State University, and then Indiana University Purdue University pursuing a degree in Chemistry. He also studied at the Kellogg School of Management.
Michael spent over 43 years working in various roles in the healthcare field. He first started as a pharmacy technician at his father’s retail pharmacy, then progressed to IV technician at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. After eight years in that role, he used his skills in computer science to begin a career as a Database Specialist and Manager of Clinical Engineering. His resume included positions such as Manager of Clinical Engineering at IU Health (Riley Children’s Hospital), Manager at IU Health, Strategic Buyer/Biomedical Modality Analyst At Philips, Asset Manager at Alliance Healthcare Services, and Strategic Advisor at Trimedx.
Michael’s passions were fishing, camping, and cooking. He first started fishing while visiting his father’s property in the country by a creek. His love of fishing continued throughout his life eventually leading to purchasing his own boat which he enjoyed with his close friends and children. He went on float trips whenever he could, looking forward to cooking great meals over an open fire. Michael was an excellent cook. His favorite dishes included Creole foods, fried turkey, capellini pomodoro, homemade pizza, and barbecued ribs. You would often get into conversations with Michael about his special tips to perfect his recipes.
Growing up in St. Louis, Michael played hockey as a young boy. He continued to enjoy the sport throughout high school. Michael also was a huge “Sci-Fi” fan which he especially shared with his son.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Logan, and mother, Lottie Logan; brother, Gerald (Brian) Logan; uncles: Merle Herriford, M.D., Lloyd Reynaud, Ralph Pecot, Jr., Haywood Pecot, Andrew Keyes, and Willis Logan; aunts, Margaret (Peggy) Reynaud and Eva Keyes and cousins: Keith Reynaud, Andrea Keyes, and Jeffrey Keyes.
Michael departed this life on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana surrounded by his children.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his former wife, Susan Logan; his two sons, Elijah and Zion Logan; daughter, Sarai Logan; sisters, Terri (Anthony) Ford and children: Jarrett, Kara, and Clayton Ford and Connie (Randall) Flagg and children: Evan and Justin Flagg, and Briana Howard; and brother Kevin (Juanita) Logan and children: Kaleb, Kai, Kadence, and Kalise Logan; nephews, Austin and Aric Logan; great-nephews, Drake Flagg and Jett Ford; great-niece, Elle Ford; aunt, Barbara Herriford; cousins: Whayne Herriford, Carla Herriford, M.D., the Honorable David Herriford, Denise Reynaud, Wendi (Reynaud) Sonnier, Cornell Reynaud, and Jimmy Keyes, and a host of other family and friends.
