When he was coaching at CNSA in Coronado his swimmers were his life.  

I was at OCS in 1964 with Mike.  He went to Seal training and I went to Pensacola for flight school  I remember spending Memorial day with Mike in Newport listening to the Indianapolis 500.  I also followed him on the message traffic from lhis tour in Vietnam.  He was a great friend.  Mike  Campbell, Denver, Colorado

Mike and I are second cousins. I still recall as a 11 year old when I saw him on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1960 and watching him in the Olympics. I also recall that while life guarding he found time to recover my recently stolen, new, two wheel bike at Ellenberger park and as a 7 year old, I was elated. Just an early example of the many good works that Mike accomplished in his life.

Sometimes in one's life, if they are lucky, they are touched in a very positive and fun way by a bigger than life personality.  That was Michael Francis Troy for the Trent Family....coach, teacher and friend.

 Mike dying his face bright green and bringing Shamrock milkshakes to the entire team at practice on Saint Patrick’s day.  I’ll never forget how encouraging  he was when I lost weight.
