Minnie R. (Granger) Traugott, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on July 7, 1934, in Clarksburg, Indiana, Minnie was the cherished daughter of George and Flossie Granger.
A bright student and proud valedictorian of her high school graduating class, Minnie continued her education at Indiana Business College in Indianapolis. It was in Indianapolis where she met the love of her life, Ed. The two were married on September 11, 1955, and shared a devoted partnership that spanned 59 years. Together, they raised two children, Eddie and Tracey, building a life centered around love, family, and lasting friends.
As part of her professional career, Minnie contributed to the in-store marketing efforts of personal care products, where her talent and creativity earned her a trip to the 1976 Montreal Olympics for designing winning product displays. Though she found success in the workplace, Minnie’s heart and energy were always rooted in caring for her family.
A gifted musician, Minnie found joy in singing and playing piano. She was an avid bowler, a sharp card player, an exceptional cook, and she relished the daily challenge of a good crossword puzzle—always tackled in ink. Her keen mind, nurturing spirit, and gentle humor left lasting impressions on all who knew her.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Traugott, her son Edward Traugott, her parents George F. and Flossie M. (Dice) Granger, and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her daughter Tracey Traugott Hensel, grandson John E. (Kimberly) Hensel, granddaughter Katherine Hensel, and her treasured great-granddaughter Ellie Joan Hensel.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Minnie’s memory to Hollis Adams, a non-profit organization that for five decades has provided meaningful social, recreational, and community-based opportunities and events for individuals with developmental disabilities—an important cause close to this family’s heart. Charitable gifts can be made at hollisadams.org
Services will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, at 11 AM, with a viewing beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Minnie’s legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
