Mitchell Charles Meigs

Mitchell C. Meigs, 69 of Indianapolis, passed away on July 9, 2021. Mitchell was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 31, 1951 to the late Charlie W. and Mary Colleen (Woods) Meigs. He received his B.A. and M.A. in History from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Mitchell worked in photo restoration and home-schooling for many years. He most recently was a historic interpreter at Connor Prairie for 16 years. He had a vast number of interests and talents, including woodworking, antique restoration, scale modeling, writing and photography.

Mitchell was a wonderful conversationalist, always at his happiest when teaching someone about the things he loved. He loved people, animals, birds, plants, and looked after all of them with great care and gentleness. He loved the mountains and never missed an opportunity to tell people about his beloved home in Colorado.

Mitchell is survived by, and will be sorely missed by his sister: Samantha Meigs (Indianapolis).

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Featherston Barn at Conner Prairie. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
