Thomas Leo Davis of Terre Haute passed away on July 11, 2013. Born in Hart Co., Ky. on September 19, 1925 to Chester and Bernice Davis, Tom grew up in Indianapolis, graduating from Washington High in 1943. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. He married Bettie Jean Klebusch of Greencastle in 1949.
Upon graduation from Indiana State Teachers College in 1951 he taught in Cloverdale before moving to Terre Haute in 1956 where he taught math for over 35 years at Sarah Scott Jr. High. He retired in 1988 to tend his garden and read. He was a member of Central Christian Church for almost 50 years.
Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bettie; his sons, Bruce [Denice] and Tom [Marty]; grandsons Dustin, Dylan, and Zane [Julie]; his brother Chester Allen [Barbara]; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Claudene Shelton, Emogene Fiddler, and Bernice Davis.
