Mrs Mildred A. Askew

Ms. Mildred A. Askew 64 of Indianapolis and formally of Itta Bena, MS. Passed away Wed. December 14, 2011. She was employed as a School Teacher for Leflora County School System and Amanda Elzy High School for 35 years before her retirement. She was a Life Long Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and National Education Assoc. She received her Masters Degree from Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, MS. She was a former member of Samuel Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Allen and one brother, James Earl Allen. She leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Mary Burton-Allen, son, John V. Askew (Samesshia) Millidgeville , GA., daughter, Jeneen D. Rucker (Gregory) of Indianapolis, IN., adopted daughter, Royce M. Cole (Beau) of Byram, MS., Brothers, Richard Allen, Johnelle Allen and Richard Donnell Allen (Tina) of Memphis, TN., sisters, Geraldine Holmes and Rosalyn Allen (Frank), both of Greenwood, MS., 6 grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Sat. Dec. 17, 2011 1:00 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Itta Bena, MS. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. Burial in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, MS.
