

A world traveler and native daughter of the Midwest who served as an educational ambassador for the US State Department in West Africa during the early 1980s, Catherine raised 5 devoted children while finding time along life's journey to excel in the areas of classical music performance (as a pianist and organist) and educational development for children and adults.
An honors alumnus of Butler University and Indiana University, Catherine served as Director of Monroe County Public Library's VITAL Adult Literacy Program from 1986 until her retirement in 2006.
Catherine is preceded in death by her loving spouse Rev. Charles H. Rogers, Sr. and their eldest son, Charles, Jr.
She is survived by her children Elois, Patricia, Kenneth and Michael, her sister Hazel Miller and six lovely grandchildren.
Funeral services for Catherine will be held at Trinity & St. Philip's Cathedral in Newark, New Jersey on Wednesday October 29, 2008 at 10:00am, and at the Gothic Chapel of Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday November 01, 2008 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Catherine's name to the United Negro College Fund.
