

Clarissa Agatha Smith Wilson Williams was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 20, 1929 to Wlater E. Smith and Eva (Shuford) Smith. Kris , as she was affectionately called, made her transition from this life early Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015 while under the care of St. Vincent Hospice.
Kris accepted Christ at the early age of seventeen at St. Stephens AME Church in Detroit, Michigan during a youth revival. She then united with Trinity AME church where her father was Pastor.
Kris received her primary and secondary education in the Detroit Public School System. She surthered her education by attending Wayne State University and then transferring to Ball State University where her fathere was assigned to the Indiana Conference of the AME Church in Muncie, Indiana.
Kris started her career working for RCA in Indianapolis then moving on to Indiana Bell Telephone company in which she worked thrity years and retired. Also, during these years , Kris worked and played the organ for funerals with Summers Funeral Home. Later in her years always wanting to be busy, Kris started working at Walmart and was employed there for over five years.
In 1950, Kris became a member of Allen Chapel AME Church. It was here she met and married Robert A. Williams Jr. on august 12, 1951. Robert had four boys and to this union with Kris, Stevem E. was born. Kris was a member of the Women's Missionary Society, particpated in the Boosters Sunday Class, was Coordintaor and Director of the Conference Choir; Director of Music for the District Conferencee and Sunday School Convention and Minister for Allen Chapel Church for over sixty years. Yes, you could say she loved her church.
In her sunset, her heavenly Father called Mama Kris home to be with Him after a month - long illness. she lived a fullfilling spirit - filled life was loving , caring , patient and believed in strong family ties. Mama Kris was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Williams Jr. and Son Michael A.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Steven e. (Pamela), Gerald A. (Alma, deceased), Charles H. (robert Lawrence) and Robert A. III (Mona); sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great- grandchildren, and thirteen great- great grandchildren; Chosen Sisters, Betty J. Crowe, Margery P. Crowe, Gladys Johnson Anderson, Gladys Adams and Matilda Foster. A host of other dear relatives and friends and the Allen Chapel AME Church family.
