87, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away April 3, 2021. Norman was born September 25, 1933, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Herbert D. and Pearl (Overton) Cook. He graduated from high school in Worthington, Indiana.
He served proudly in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956 with classification of aircraft mechanic receiving an honorable discharge. Norman began work at Allison Engine Company and retired from Rolls Royce after 47 years of dedicated service.
Norman is survived by his wife, Janet (Nell), son Brian (Jodi) Cook, grandchildren Jennifer Ward and Braden (Brittney) Cook, great grandchildren, Christian Ward and Roman Cook, brother Marvin (Beverly) Cook, sister Lana (Cook) Detro, step-son Chris (Melanie) Fancher, step-daughter Janna (Steve) Kissel, step-son Shane (Michelle) Fancher, 8 step-grandchildren and 8 great step-grandchildren.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, sister Madeline (Cook) Poole and grandson Blain Bryant.
Norman will be remembered for his love of family, sense of humor, sense of duty, his dedication to his wife, Janet, and much more. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Services are being held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W 38th St, Indpls, IN on Thursday, April 8, at 2pm, with visitation starting at 1pm. Visit www.crownhil.org for more information.
