

Odia was born on May 9th, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Floy Boston & Odia Boston Sr. Upon graduating from Washington High School in 1946, he joined the United States Army as an infantryman stationed in Korea until March of 1948, he then married the love of his life Dolores Porten on June 9, 1951. He went to Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis to receive an associate degree in engineering where he used his education working at Link Belt Chain Division many years eventually retiring from there. He was a member of St Christopher Parish since 1960 & blessed his family in 2001 by actually being baptized Catholic.
Odia found great joy in woodworking. He took such pride in creating pieces that would be cherished for years to come. He had a remarkable talent for turning simple materials into beautiful pieces with detailed accuracy, skill & care.
He also had a spirit for adventure. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling, hunting, golfing (hole in 1, 1987)and in his later years loved taking long drives with his family through the backroads watching for deer.
Above all he will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and the love he had for God & his family.
Odia was preceded in death by his parents Odia & Floy Boston, wife “Dolores” and brothers Bob & Ronnie Boston.
Odia is survived by his daughters Mary Jo Newman, Carol (Tom) Rost, Susie (Jim) Eshcoff and Donna (John) Hall.
He has 7 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care, located at 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224, on November 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A second visitation will take place at St Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46224, on November 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. until service time, followed by a Funeral Mass at the same location at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
The graveside service will be held at Calvary and Holy Cross/St. Joseph Cemeteries, 435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225, on November 25, 2025, at 2:15 p.m.
