

89, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, on June 22, 2013. He was born in DeWitt, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Jinks; father and mother Orville and Dorothy Jinks; brother, Dale Jinks; sisters, Wilma Jinks Rose and Margie Jinks Blochel. Orville is survived by his daughter Dixie Jinks Roe; sons, Gregory (Brenda) Jinks, Steve (Sue) Hodgson, and Terry Jinks; grandchildren Monica Roe (Seth) Nicholas, Kari Points, Matthew (Angie) Roe, Evan Jinks, Wesley Jinks, Chris Hodgson, Laura Amenn and Christopher (Daisy Castro) Jinks; and 11 great grandchildren.
Orville was a dedicated family man who was known for a twinkle in his eye, sense of humor, analytical mind and an endearing manner, A Pearl Harbor Survivor, he served in the Navy on the USS San Francisco, a recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation, 17 major battles, ranked third most in WWII, including Guadalcanal. He was a former Indiana State Chairman of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and spoke about his experience to schools and community groups He was an active member and volunteer at the New Bethel Baptist Church for nearly 40 years. Orville retired from the LS Ayres & Co. after many years in sales.
Visitation will be held Wednesday June 26th from 1:00-3:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd. Indianapolis, Indiana 46237, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker, IN.
