Pastor Eddie James Long

Eddie Long was born on February 07, 1967, in Tuskegee, Alabama to Loreana Hosea. Eddie lived most of his life Indianapolis, Indiana. Eddie graduated from North Central High School in the mid 80's. After high school he worked for several companies such as the Indiana Childrens' Bureau and Lamco Finishers INC. In the late 90's, Eddie gave his life to Christ and became very active in the church. There he met Lachelle Rainey and united in holy matrimony on February 14, 1998. Two years later, Eddie landed a long-term position at PepsiCo as a fork-lift driver. Eddie was a loving, devoted father to his two daughters, ShaVonna and Destany Long. In 2010, Eddie, along with his wife Lachelle, started their church called Proclaiming Faith Ministries. In 2013, Eddie Long was ordained by Bishop J Laverne Tyson.Eddie was passionate about outreach and saving souls. He expressed his love for music at Proclaiming Faith and he enjoyed fellowshipping with others. Eddie loved to have fun with his friends and family. After 18 years at PepsiCo, Eddie retired in 2018 to pursue the ministry full-time. Eddie spent his time travelling and spending time with family. He loved to sing and dance. He was very adventurous and outgoing. He enjoyed meeting new people and trying new things.Eddie is preceded in death by Stepfather Jonah Hosea; Grandfather Jesse Long Sr.; aunts Willie Mae Long and Jesse Mae Long.Eddie departed on January 18, 2019 at the age of 51. He is survived by his wife, Lachelle Lashae Long; daughters, Shavonna LaSha Long and Destany Latrese Long; brothers, Frederick D. Long, Freddie D. Long, Danny Hosea and Dariel Hosea; Uncles, Jesse Long Jr and Robert Lee Long; Mother, Loreana Hosea, grandmother, Cora Lee Long, brother in laws, Ronald Roundtree, Jeffrey Rice, Albert Rainey, Anthony Taylor and Aaron Aliya; sister in law, Sharon Taylor, Romona Roundtree, Levetha Aliyu and Pamela Rice and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
