

Patrick Edmonds, fondly known as Butch to his family and friends, graced this world with his infectious laughter and zest for life. Born on June 10th, 1940, in Columbus, Indiana, he brought joy to those around him from the very beginning. At the age of eight, he embarked on a journey to Amityville, New York, setting the stage for a life full of adventure and heartwarming moments.
Butch's high school years were spent at Amityville High School. He answered the call to serve his country and joined the Navy, dedicating four years of his life. In November of 1966, Butch married Patricia Foy. Their union was blessed with two children, Duane and Yolander. Butch's role as a father was marked by love, guidance, and a healthy dose of humor, a combination that made him the cornerstone of his family's joy.
His professional journey led him down the open road as a career truck driver for Consolidated Freight. Kojak, a name that echoed through CB radios, became synonymous with his dedication and work ethic. After years of navigating the highways, Kojak finally parked his truck and retired.
Butch's passion for music resonated with everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. A regular at local clubs in Indianapolis, he became known for dancing the night away in his flashy attire. Butch was the life of the party, a living testament to the idea that age is just a number when it comes to enjoying life to the fullest. In his later years, Butch found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. While spending quality time with family, he embraced each moment with a heart full of gratitude. His contagious
laughter will echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Butch, let us remember the vibrant soul who brought light to our lives. His legacy of love and lively dance moves will continue to inspire us, ensuring that his memory lives on in the stories we share and the smiles he evoked. Rest in peace Patrick; may your laughter echo through the halls of eternity.
Patrick Edmonds was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Julia Anne Edmonds. He is survived by two children, Duane Edmonds and Yolander Hunt, his sisters; JoAnna and Donna Edmonds, 6 grandchildren; Ayana (Matt), Duan, Dalya, Sidney, Jalen, Joe L., 4 Great-grandsons, and a host of additional relatives that love him deeply.
A visitation for Butch will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
