Mr. Gates was a Jehovah's Witness. He was a State and City wrestling champ. He was head of maintenance at B & B Healthcare Center for over ten years.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sons: Phil Kenneth Gates, Jr. (Bettina), Derrill Lee Gates and Kennie Gates (Melinda) and sister, Mabel A. Marshall; eleven grandchildren and a host of extended family.
Mr. Gates calling will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013, 5pm to 6pm, with the Memorial Service at 6pm, at Williams & Bluitt Funeral Home, Peoples Chapel.
