Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ella Cape, and their four children, Ruth (Phillip) Allinger, David (Susan) Cape, Stephen (Angela) Cape, and Mary (Matthew) Jones; 12 grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Roxie (Ronald) Garrison, Frances Whyde, John Kemp, Woodrow (Vada) Kemp, and Michael Farrar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard and his wife were missionaries in Brazil, S.A. for 20 years and he served as an interim Pastor when back in the United States.
A private memorial service for the family will be scheduled at a later date.
