Robert Henry Johnson Jr.

Robert Henry Johnson, Jr was born in Hopkinsville, KY to Robert and Stella Webb Johnson on August 12, 1933. Robert’s parents died when he was a young boy and was by raised Parents’ George L and Mary Love Coleman. Robert came to Indianapolis as a young boy and was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system, graduating from Arsenal Tech High School. Robert continued his education with college courses.

Robert, also known as Bob, joined the US Army where he furthered his career in boxing. Bob “Killer” Johnson as he was known, won many boxing awards for the army. In addition to Bob loving boxing, he was an avid bowler. Bob played in many leagues for various bowling lanes throughout Indianapolis.

Bob had many careers throughout his lifetime: Policeman, Owner of Johnson’s Protective Services, Meat Packing, and Security, often working two or three jobs at a time. Bob retired in 1997 as a Supervisor of Chevrolet Truck and Bus after 30 something years of service to them.

Bob was previously married to Sonja Smith Johnson and “HIS GIRLS” were born – Kimberley Kaye, No. 1, Sandra Annette, No. 2 and Tammy Lynn, No. 3.

“Daddy”/Robert/Bob left this earthly world on Friday morning June 28, 2024, at the 4 AM hour. No more pain and no more “boots”.

Robert Henry Johnson Jr was preceded in death by both sets of parents, Sister: Margaret Sturgis, Brother: Glenn Richardson, Son: Thomas Majors, Son in Law: Melvin May.

Surviving Robert is his Family: Daughters: Kimberley Cameron, Sandra (Nicky) Johnson-May, Tammy May, Stepdaughters: Julie and Natilie, Fiance: Sandra Clark, Step Sons: Anthony, Stephen, Rodney, and Damon Clark. Sisters: Mary Rachel Ladd and Arlene Ervin, Cousin Troy Ladd, along with a Host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
