Mr. Robert Phelps 85 Indianapolis Passed away Fri. Sept. 16, 2011. He was employed with the U. S. Postal service for 27 years as a Mail handler before retiring in 1984. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifelong member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, son, Roderick E. Phelps, brother, Oscar(LC)Phelps, sisters, Mary Phelps and Ardella Gavia. He is survived by his wife, Fern L. Phelps, sons, Robert V. Phelps (Pamela) and Keith J. Phelps(Anita), daughters, Marcia A. Johnson(Marvin) and Belinda Y. Phelps-Brady, sisters, Delilah, Vera(Newton), Juanita(Willie), Effew(Marvell), Jessie, Gloria, Loretta(Lerhman), 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Sat. Sept. 24, 2011 12:00 noon at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2624 E. 25th St visitation from 10: 00 a.m. with burial in Sutherland Park.
