

Born on Feb. 19, 1938, in Derby, Connecticut, to Alfreda and Frank Tyburski, Robert spent his formative years in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He attended Kanty and later attended St Vincent Seminary. Vocation led him to Puerto Rico and subsequently to Colon Panama where he served the poor and overlooked.
Robert returned to Connecticut to tend to his mother who had fallen ill. He traveled to New York to visit with an acquaintance from Colon, and he realized he was visiting the love of his life and future wife.
He Married 1974 in Indianapolis, Indiana - Robert pursued a career as a civil servant working in the division of addiction services for more than 30 years. He returned to service for those in need during retirement working as a translator for St. Vincent De Paul food pantry.
Robert generously spent his time and resources to help others both near and far. People inherently felt he was a man who would show compassion and assistance without judgment. Living his Catholic values quietly and without seeking recognition, he touched the lives of countless individuals lacking or having minimal support. A devoted family man he was known for his quiet presence, the integrity of his word, and the way he lived his values.
Robert is preceded by son Matthew and survived by: Patricia Tyburski (wife) Mark Tyburski, Ed Tyburski (sons), Catherine Nagy (sister), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church 10655 Haverstick Rd. Carmel, Indiana. The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time. Entombment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Vincent De Paul food Pantry.
