Good friends are never forgotten.  We often think of Rudy and laugh about the good times we shared.

I am sorry for your loss.   Dr. Wilson was the principal at North view Middle School when I attended.  My one clear memory is him standing in the hall during passing period looking very serious. Light and Love to his family.

Rudolph you and your family are in my prayers. Uncle Rudy was and still is the coolest kindest person. Condolences to you in this most difficult time.

    Rudy was one of the finest neighbors one could have and I miss our conversations so much. He was married to such a lovely lady also and Cory is missed as well.
     I am quite aware of his accomplishments during lifetime. Having lived here all my 82 years I am aware of his being one of the best educators this city could have. How much can be said of his musical talents and family of music? Not enough room on this page! His knowledge and ambition to improve education was unending .

My name is Theodore Bryant. I was a student in Dr. Wilson's shop class in the 1960's when he was a teacher at Joyce Kilmer School #69.  Dr. Wilson had me work in several different areas when I was in his shop class but I never excelled until he put me in "printing". I learned the "California" job case so I knew the location of letters when I was setting the type.  I could run the printing press so I could also print the job when the type was set. This meant Dr. Wilson would request that I be excused from class to set the type and print the programs for the PTA.  I went summer school one year and decided to make a letter opener out of plexiglass. I succeeded in cutting my finger. It needed stitches. Dr. Wilson drove me home in his brand new Thunderbird. It was blue with a white interior.  This was my first time ever riding in a brand new card. When I left school #69 for high school, I got the "most likely to succeed" award. I know Dr. Wilson pushed for me to get that award. 
 I carried what he taught me to Shortridge High School in 1965 and ace'd all the printing classes I took there. I was so good at "reading type upside down, from right to left" that my high school teacher implied I was cheating!  When we moved to a small town in southern Ohio in 1967 I thought my printing education was coming to an end. Yellow Springs high school had less the 400 students and no shop or printing classes. But they did have a work study program that allowed me to go to school half days and work the other half for a printing company during my junior and senior years. I took what I learned to college at Central State University and  continued to take printing classes and ace'd them. Upon graduation I learned I could make more money in automotive glass that I could in printing. But now, nearly 60 years later I found a place in Detroit that I can again set type and run a printing press. 
 Thanks Dr. Wilson for taking an interest in me and teaching me a trade!

Miss and love you grandpa, Dr. Rudy Wilson! Your spirit will live on. I’m so glad we bickered and poked fun about  who the better school in Indiana was ;) love and miss you and will deeply cherish the memories and time together. It will never be forgotten.

Rudy was a great principal to work for as I had the pleasure to be associated with him all the years at Westlane and Northview.  Rudy impacted more lives than he ever realized.  A great friend.

Hi Rudolph & Linda and family:
I was very sorry to hear about your dad - he and I had chatted recently regarding your mom, and it was a shock to hear of his passing.  My memories will always be of how dapper & cool your dad was…he was such a charming guy who loved his family, education and his weekend games. 
He sounded so well when we spoke last a couple months ago - so I hope his passing was quick and painless.

We did not get to meet Rudy and Corrie until late in our lives; but when we did we certainly met two wonderful friends.

We are so sorry to have lost such a good friend.  Someone who we consider so special as Rudy will not be forgotten.  We will always cherish the wonderful memories we have of him.

Your father was my friend and mentor.  I had the privilege of working with and learning from him for 4 decades. I am very sorry for your loss.

My most vivid memory of your father occurred during his principalship at Westlane Junior High School.  One afternoon, during a game, he was standing at the side of the football field watching you.   You were playing split end.  The ball was thrown to you on a shallow down and out at about the visitor's 40 yard line.  You caught the ball and headed to the end zone.  Your father was running along the sideline and screaming his head off "RUN, SON, RUN!"  You scored a touchdown on that play.  I have never seen a parent more proud of a child than your father on that day.





To Rudolph, Linda and the girls,
Rudy was a great educator and very good friend. We shared a lot of great times and traveled to many destinations with Rudy and Corrie. Our favorite spot was Aruba. We also enjoyed our many events with the Romans Social Club. He will be missed.
