

At an early age she was baptized at Carter Memorial Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor Estee Adams Sr. Shaaron attended Grade School #87 and graduated from Crispus Attucks High school. Shaaron worked at Fort Harrison until they downsized and then started working at Grade School #42 as a file clerk until she suffered a back injury which lead her to do seamstress work from home. She did alterations and designed dresses. Shaaron made the first Junior Ushers uniforms for Carter Memorial Baptist Church and also did designs for many Easter and Christmas pageants. Shaaron was also a care giver for children. She took care of many over the years. With her church ministry, she served as Sunday School secretary for many years. Shaaron had a love of music while in high school and participated in Tigeromas and the first album Crispus Attucks High produced. She served in music ministry with her church Youth choir, Choraleers, and Sanctuary choir. Shaaron also served in our district music ministry Mass Choir for several years. She enjoyed singing until she began having health issues. Shaaron, for a time, had a phone ministry. She would call to see how you were and give you words of encouragement. Shaaron also liked to hand out the Daily Bread booklets to people. Shaaron was always prepared with safety pins, rubber bands, tissues, candy, tape, and a small sewing kit if you busted something you were wearing at church or anywhere.
In addition to her parents, Shaaron had 3 brothers Lu Wayne Smith Jr., Harold Bell and William Bell who preceded her in death.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory sisters; Priscilla (Smith) Williams and Patricia (Smith) Crenshaw; nephews Harold Bell III, Tony Bell, Craig Crenshaw, Adrian (Monique) Crenshaw; nieces Vivian Bell, Leslie Bell, and Kelli (Reno) Crenshaw Howard, and a host of great nieces and nephews. Last but not least, a special thanks goes to grandbaby Zauri Crayton for helping her Nanna go back and forth to the hospital and nursing home, and always pushing her around in her wheelchair, also to Michelle for her added decorations of pink. Shaaron will forever be missed by those who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, located at 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN, 46208, US. The service is scheduled for November 21, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
