Sharon was born in Indiana and was a lifelong resident of Speedway, where she lived for more than 80 years. She had a deep love for children and devoted over 25 years to caring for them through her in-home daycare. Sharon also served as a teacher with Wayne Township Schools, touching the lives of many students and families.
She was a devoted fan of Neil Diamond and found joy in the simple pleasures of life—planting flowers each spring, cooking meals, and gathering family and friends around her table. Sharon’s warmth, generosity, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, May Ashley and Paul Ashley.
Sharon is survived by her brother, Don Ashley; her four children, Christopher Bondurant, Jeffery Bondurant, Steven Bondurant, and Julie (Mills) Bondurant; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Indiana Funeral Care West, located at 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
