Suzanne Flint Fifer, loving mother of two and wife of Rolland Lewis Fifer Jr. ascended to Heaven on Sunday, February 12, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with dementia and is in the almighty hands of God.
She was born in Indianapolis and graduated from Shortridge High School and Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Suzie's passion and optimism for life was an inspiration and source of strength to all who love her. Her generosity extended to numerous community projects, with her most beloved and memorable contributions and resources being dedicated to the Humane Society where she was a "heroine" known to protect animals from pain and suffering.
Suzie is reunited with her lost loved ones in heaven, her father, Leslie Leroy Flint and her mother, Dorothea White Flint and is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Rolland Lewis Fifer Jr. and her two daughters, Karen Fifer Giffel and her husband, Gary Allen Giffel, and Kristin Lee Fifer and Jody Ferguson, and her sister, Jane Flint Boxell and family. She was an adoring grandmother to Alexander Bret Giffel, who will miss his "Gran" with all his heart.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Indiana University Health Hospice and volunteers for their incredible kindness and extraordinary care, in particular a special thank you to her nurse, Terry Tallman and Teresa, her home health aide.
