

Mrs. Virginia Dare Browder-Jones, age 108, of Indianapolis passed away January 10, 2018. Born November 1, 1909 in Mayfield, KY, she was the daughter of Russell and Margaret Scruggs. She was a graduate of South Fulton High School (KY). She attended business college in Dayton, OH. She was a member of the Metropolitan Board of Realtors and the Women's Council of Realtors. During her 36 year career in real estate she was associated with the Bruce Savage Company and owner of Kentucky Home Realty in Covington, KY. She was a 60 year member of Broadway United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Eastern Stars. She was an active member and leader of the American Business Women Association, Delta Carte Chapter. In 1971, Virginia was honored as woman of the year of the Delta Carte Chapter.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, George L. Browder and Hilary H. Jones, son-in-law Gayle James Riedl and grandson Stephen James Riedl. She is survived by her son George L. Browder (Karla), daughter Patricia D. Riedl, granddaughter Kimberly Dare Greiner (Gregg), grandson Christopher G. Browder and great-grandson Dakota James Greiner. Virginia's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the assisted living facility at Marquette Manor, who provided such kind and loving care.
Private services were held January 19, 2018. Entombment is at Crown Hill Cemetery.
