

Virginia was known for her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought into every room. She had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for, and her kindness left an imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a devoted wife to James "Macky" Dryden who preceded her in death and a loving mother to her children: Charles Edward Benefiel, Debra Miller, Nancy Marie Roberts, Pamela Sue Miller, and Justin Dryden. She was also the cherished daughter of Louis Mosteller and Helen Carpenter, whose love and guidance shaped her life and they precede her in death.
Virginia’s legacy continues through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy. She held each generation close to her heart, and her family will forever remember the warmth of her embrace and the wisdom she shared so generously.
She will be remembered for her steady love, her resilience, and the grace with which she moved through life’s joys and challenges. Her family and friends will forever cherish her laughter, her stories, and the comfort of her presence.
Visitation for friends and extended family will be held Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4:00–7:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46224. A funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, with graveside services at 2:00 PM at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
A meal will be served afterward at Brutus’s house, where family and friends are invited to gather and share memories.
Virginia’s life was a testament to warmth, patience, and generosity. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will continue in the hearts of all who knew her.
