Virginia Jeannie Martin joined her husband of 73 years, R. Franklin Martin, in eternal rest on January 15th, 2016. Born to Larcey and Ada McCoy Eskew on March 25th, 1922, near Corydon, Indiana. Jeannie graduated from New Salisbury High School, married, and then relocated to Indianapolis with her husband. Always willing to lend her talents to help others, Jeannie organized bean suppers, mincemeat sales, and Dorcas Circle meetings at Bellaire Methodist Church, served as President of the PTO for School 91, and always had a kind note and a plate of treats for neighbors in need. Jeannie will be remembered as a devoted follower of Christ; a loving wife, mother and grandmother; a consummate hostess; a skilled bridge player; and a wonderful cook whose pies were the highlight of many celebrations. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Gary (Beatrice) Martin and Mac (Nancy) Martin; grandchildren, Jay (Anne) Martin and Lisa (Keith) Martin; 3 step- grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
