

Walter was a father, grandfather and a friend who loved & cared for others.
He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War as a SP4. He received several medals such as Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Overseas Bars, National Defense service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He took the hand of Jesus Christ at 9:30 pm Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Kindred Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
Walter was baptized by the late Rev. Arnell Mitchell at St. Elizabeth United Primate Baptist Church with his cousins Sharon, Rhona, and Jamellia at an early age.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ida “Pasty” Clark Leslie who preceded him in death. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his daughter Tamika Hunter; granddaughter, Kayla Hunter-Percell, two step-daughters Carmon Summers, Darlene “Dee Dee” Mason.
Pete leaves to cherish his many loving memories: two granddaughters: Elexus Hunter-Percell (Tim Witchard Jr.), Haley Hunter-Percell; one grandson: Channing Hunter-Percell, Step-daughters: Tammi Clark, Natalie (Brett) Smith, Cellenar “Ruthie” Clark (Derrick) of Indianapolis, IN, Doris Horton-Williams (Allen) of Huntsville, AL: step-son Darrell Mason (Shar’ron) and a special grandson Kevin L. Summers, better known as “The Goat” of Indianapolis, IN.
