70, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 9, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. Doug was born in Felty, KY. to the late Chester and Lora Combs on July 29, 1945. He was the owner of Surplus Bargain Center for 35 years and worked at Raceway Park for 42 years where he was a track announcer for 20 years. He loved drag racing, boating and camping. Doug was also an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues. Doug was also a Veteran of the USAF. He is survived by his wife; Sheila Combs, sons; Steve and Matt Combs, sisters; Lillie Leap, Josephine (Gerald) Foster, Linda Combs, Brenda Sandlin and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers; Garrett, Carl and Hayward (Venita-survives) Combs and sister; Phyllis Lowis. Visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care in Indianapolis on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
