

80, of Indianapolis. Departed this life Wednesday, May 25, 2011. He was born May 12, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to Herman and Alice Marie (Loeffler) Foppe. Bill proudly served his country in combat during the Korean War with the United States Army. During his dedicated service, he was awarded three Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He then graduated from Ohio University. Bill worked as a CPA throughout his life and was a member of The Indianapolis Service Club, Hillcrest Country Club, the Gyro Club, and the Indianapolis Athletic Club. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Elizabeth J. “Betty” Foppe and his sister, Alice “Peggy” VonHagel. Bill is survived by his son, David W. Foppe; daughter, Susan J. Mathews; grandchildren, Christy M. Scott and William “Billy” Raymer; great-grandchildren, Eric and Olivia Carr and Chloe and Thomas Scott; brother, Robert Foppe and sisters, Patricia VonKorff, Rosemary Sturm, Charlotte Schultz and Celeste Riehle. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Matthew Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday, June 1st in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillcrest Historic Foundation or to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
