Willie was born in Tennessee to Lillie Belle Harper and Otis Harper on September 13, 1942. He was married to Betty J. Harper also of Thorntown, IN.
Willie was a Vietnam veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was awarded many medals and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Willie also was a college graduate.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents Lillie Belle and Otis Harper, children; Beth Witman Harper, Marty Harper, Michael Kaufman.
Wille is survived by his wife Betty Harper, children Donna Willis, Billy Harper, Mary Walkup, Penny Stevens, Virgil Kaufman, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Willie will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by graveside service with full military honors.
