Mr. Homer William Ready

Homer William Ready, 85, of Wagarville, passed away September 22, 2016 at the Washington County Nursing Home. He was born June 9, 1931 to Homer L. and Myrtie May Ready. He was a retired tug boat engineer and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Joyce and Don; sisters, Mary Lee and Lou Emma; and great-grandson, Jacob. He is survived by his wife, Orra Belle Ready; children, Tommy, Sandra, Charlotte, Bo, Steve, Jim, Clay, Darlene; brother, Allen and 55 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Clearwater Assembly of God Church in Wagarville with the Revs. Jimmy Butts and Darryl Butts officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing. The staff if Washington County Nursing Home will serve as honorary pallbearers.
