Lena Clara Duke

Lena Clara Duke, 70, of Jackson, AL, entered into rest Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at her home. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Winn Road in Jackson. Rev. Rodney Duke will officiate.

A native of Mobile, Ms. Duke had resided in Jackson since her retirement from the Air Force in 1986. She retired as a master sergeant and was involved in intelligence during Vietnam. Ms. Duke was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Velma Wilson Duke, three sisters, Nathalie Bricker, Barbara Edeker, and Janice Duke, and a granddaughter, Aiden Carpenter.

Ms. Duke is survived by her daughter, Michael Lee Duke of Jackson, an adopted daughter, Kelly Schauger of Jackson, two sisters, Joyce Hudson and Mary Swift both of Mobile, a brother, Rodney Duke (Alice) of Collins, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.
