Robert Houston Broadhead

Robert Houston Broadhead, 81, of Jackson, AL, entered into rest Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Broadhead was born in Needham, AL on July 17, 1933 to the late William Felix and Winnie Dee Wright Broadhead. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and an active member of First Assembly of God Jackson. He worked over 30 years as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office. Mr. Broadhead was preceded in death by his son Dale Harwell Broadhead and three brothers, Leora Broadhead, Manasseh Broadhead, and Naman Broadhead.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Reba Kiracofe Broadhead, of Jackson, AL, his sons Robert Houston “Bob” Broadhead, Jr. (Cheryl) of Jackson, AL, Joel Hollis Broadhead (Debra) of Jackson, AL, his daughters, Nancy Broadhead Dunn (Steve) of Batesville, MS, Susan Broadhead Robison (Benjie) of Whatley, AL, a brother, Arthur Broadhead (Pennie) of Needham, AL, sisters, Opal Barrett of Selma, AL, Melba Donald (Quinnie) of Needham, AL, Margie Destin of Destin, FL, Blanche Covington (Valerie) of Needham, AL, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God in Jackson. Mr. Broadhead will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Gaddys Chapel Cemetery. Pastor E.C. Russell and Brother Charles Lenn will officiate.

Pallbearers include Bob Broadhead, Joel Broadhead, Steve Dunn, SGM Gary Little, Benjamin Robison, Dustin Robison, Brandon Robison, and Brian Sapp.

Honorary Pallbearers include Willie Nichols, Ernest Williams, Jerry Anderson, Bob Day, James Gilchrist, David Wilson, Don Petty, Jeff Miles and Benjie Robison.
