Ms. Connie Seaney passed into glory May 13, 2018 after a brief illness at the Baptist Hospital. Ms. Seaney was born February 23, 1928 in Bloomington, IL to George and Oma Baker, the youngest of ten children.
Ms. Seaney was a life long member of Pearson Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Ms. Seaney was an accomplished dulcimer player, had a great fondness of old time mountain music and gave lessons to anyone that wanted to learn to play.
Ms. Seaney worked as the church secretary for many years before moving to the MS Baptist Convention Board in Jackson, MS where she worked until her retirement.
After retiring Ms. Seaney was an active member of the Eastern Star located at the John P. Byrd Lodge No. 629 in Pearl where she held various officer positions to include Worthy Matron.
In her later years Ms. Seaney looked forward to senior day at the Pearl Community Center where she played Hand & Foot and other card games with her friends.
Ms. Seaney touched everyone she met and will be missed by all of her friends and relatives.
Ms. Seaney is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Seaney, Jr. and oldest son, Sammy Seaney from Harrisville, MS. Ms. Seaney is survived by two sons, Marlon Seaney from Pearl, MS and Bobby Seaney from Morton, MS as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, May 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Calvin Williams and music by Buddy Casey. Internment will follow the service.
