Charles Walter Carter, 62, passed away Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at his home in Canton, MS. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, July 9th from 9:30 until 11:00 am with the funeral service to follow. Interment will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
Charles was born in Jackson, MS on July 29th, 1959 to Clyde S. Carter and Hilda Lozene Cooper Carter. He was of Baptist faith. He retired after last working at Deviney Rentals.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lana Cheryl Bray Carter; mother, Hilda Lozene Harrell; father, Clyde Samuel Carter, Sr.; grandparents, Walter T. Cooper, Artie Cooper, and Mozelle Carter.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Charles Carter (Stephanie) of Jackson and Bruce Lee Carter of Brandon; daughter, Tina Sheree Carter Todd (Caleb) of Hattiesburg; grandchildren Jeremy Cole Carter, Justin Clay Carter, Joseph Peyton Carter, Alexis Jenkins, Austin Todd, Kevin Todd, Lana Grace Bray, and Jackson Todd; sisters, Debbie Prather (Waid) of Carthage, Charlotte Morgan (Chester) of Brandon, Gail McMurty of Brandon, Johnnie Sue Carter of Brandon and Marian Annette Mclemore of Carthage; and brother, Clyde Samuel Carter, Jr. (Kay) of Foley, Alabama.
