

Mrs. Elise Giles Stewart, age 71, passed away on March 31, 2025, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on August 3, 1953, in the same city, Elise remained deeply connected to the community that shaped her life.
A proud graduate of Central High School, Elise built a long and dedicated career marked by perseverance and professionalism. She worked at G&O Manufacturing for many years before continuing her journey at Delta as Corporate Assistant Controller. Throughout her career, she formed lasting bonds with colleagues who became like family and whose lives were enriched by her unwavering commitment and work ethic.
Elise was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi. In recent years, she also often attended Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Florence alongside her daughter Laura and friend Sharon Giles Simmons. Her faith was steadfast throughout her life and was a source of strength and guidance.
The family was the heart of Elise’s world. Elise married the love of her life Larry on January 4th, 1972. Elise and Larry had a love like no other. It was honest and pure. They were married for over 53 years. Their love can be seen through the eyes of their great grandchildren.
She is remembered by her husband, Larry W. Stewart Sr.; daughter, Laura Null and her husband, Justin; son, Larry W. Stewart Jr.; grandchildren, Hayley Errington, Alyssa Stewart, Austyn Holmes (Brandon Phillips), Peyton Null, and Riley Null; and great-grandchildren Crew Phillips, Nova Kate Phillips, Kinley Errington, and Everly Errington.
She is also mourned by her brother Thomas Wayne Giles and a large extended family of nieces and nephews: Charlotte Dinsmore (Sid), Michelle Witherington (Joe), C.W. Giles, Casey Giles, Russell Giles, Phyllis Giles, Tina Giles, Amy Malone (Chris), Gary Stewart, Leslie Stewart, Clyde Stewart Jr., Nacy Mason (Tony), Amanda Brown, and Shelton Stewart along with many great nieces and nephews.
Elise was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisa Ann Stewart, her parents, Mamie Ethal Henson Giles and Russell Harlon Giles, and siblings Harlon Giles, Marlin Giles, Linda Giles, and Phil Giles.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, in Jackson. A funeral service will follow at the exact location from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.
Elise’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with steadfast love and enduring strength. May her legacy bring comfort to all who knew her.
