
Erma Jean Nixon, 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18 at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church (HROC) located at 414 E. College Street in Clinton, MS, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a short prayer service to follow from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church on Friday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service directly following. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South in Jackson. Jean was born into a Navy family on January 24, 1948 at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Senior Chief Petty Officer James H. Nixon, USN Retired and wife, Anna E. (Csore). She was a graduate of Forest Hill High School, Class of 1965, and for much of her life was a licensed real estate broker serving the Jackson Metro Area. Fondly known as “Aunt Jean” by family and friends, she is survived by beloved nephew, Jim Hancock (Kim) and great nephews, Jamie and Sam Hancock and great niece Mary Margaret Hancock. She was employed for the past six years with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS) and her family expresses sincerest appreciation to her MDPS family for their caring and support.
