She married Stanley Roberson on March 3, 1950, in Jackson, MS. They had 47 years together until Stanley's passing in 1997. They added three daughters to the family and kept growing. Gwendolyn worked for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety for 26 years.
Gwendolyn is survived by her daughters Carol Warren (Ted) of Madison, Mississippi, Nancy Wilson of Brandon, Mississippi, and Linda Pyron (David) of Brandon, Mississippi; grandchildren Bo Wilson (Becca), Scott Wilson (Hannah), Ben Pyron, Michael Warren, Stephen Warren, Ashley Bennett (BJ), and Lindsay Warren and great grandchildren Riley, Kayla, Charlie Wilson, Abby, Willa Wilson, Timothy, Shirley, Joseph, Gene, Jewel, Susanna, Hezekiah Bennett, Lillian, Emma, Olivia McElroy, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Roberson; son-in-law Buddy Wilson; father Grover Lee Jones and mother Ethel Scott Jones.

A visitation for Gwendolyn will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home. Gwendolyn will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park.
