Mr. James Franklin Perry, Jr, 95, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Lakewood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Perry was born in Greenwood, MS on February 8, 1919 to the late, James and Ruth Hansel Perry. He attended Mississippi State University until enlisting the United States Air Force. Frank was part of the 8th Air Force (306th Bombardment Group) that flew combat missions in Europe during WWII. His unit had the highest casualty rate in the war. He retired from AT&T as an electrical engineer. Mr. Perry was a member of Old Towne Community Church in Ridgeland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Shaffer Perry; his parents; and sisters, Martha Hayes and Delores O’Bryant.
Mr. Perry is survived by his daughters, Janet Slaughter (Butch) and Lisa Faulkner (Bill); grandchildren, Joshua Slaughter, Julie Henkel (Paul), Meredith Zahorsky (Kyle), Colby Faulkner, Logan Faulkner; great grandchildren, Jacob Henkel, Molly Zahorsky, and Max Zahorsky.
