James was born on June 13th, 1934 to the late Victor and Coy Benefield Snead in Clayton Alabama. Upon completion of High School in 1952, “Jim” went to Washington D.C. to study electronics, while also working for the FBI. During his career in electronics he owned a successful television repair shop, working for Motorola and finally retiring from General Electric.
During his years in Clinton, James was well loved by his neighbors and was know as the neighborhood handy man.
James was married to the late Bobbie Lambert Snead of Thrasher Mississippi, and is survived by his children, Debi (Craig) Claphan of Clinton and Barry (Beth) Snead of Yazoo City. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tony, Aaron, Jonalyn and James. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Snead Parrish.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a service to follow at 1:00 pm at the Pavilion at Lakewood Memorial Park.
