Jane Hasty married Lynwood Bowdoin on April 26, 1945. Together they brought five children into the world; Lister, Priscilla, Rebecca, Matthew and Rachel. She devoted her life to being a servant to the Lord, wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother. Jane loved her family and instilled strong values in her children. These values will continue to be passed on by generations to come.
It's easy to say that she had a beautiful long life and to say that she will be remembered for her loving disposition. However, it is most important to note that she will be remembered for her strong and faithful love for the Lord, which remained constant through her final moments on earth. She always offered her wisdom. She encouraged those around her to focus on Christ, no matter the circumstances. Her long-time relationship with Christ was inspirational and impacted many.
As mentioned earlier, Jane was blessed with a large family. Yet, she never lacked the capacity to love each individual completely and uniquely. Jane was absolutely adored by her family and everyone who had the opportunity to meet her. She truly was someone who had a larger-than-life personality. Her family describes her as joyful, sweet, wise, hilarious, sharp as a tack, spunky, silly, welcoming to all, and occasionally a bit feisty-in the best way possible of course.
Jane is survived by her children, Lister and wife Sharon Bowdoin, Priscilla and husband Gary, Landon Cox, Rebecca Stewart, Matthew Bowdoin; son-in-law, Daniel Wilson and her many grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Lister Hasty and Mildred Ragsdale Hasty; sister, Shirley Hasty Shores; brother, George Hasty; husband, Lynwood Bowdoin and daughter, Rachel Bowdoin Wilson.
The assurance that Jane is now with our Lord and has been reunited with many of her loved ones for eternity, offers a great amount of peace to her family. We are grateful for the many ways she blessed and enriched our lives for so many years.
