Janett Tannehill Loeb

Janett Tannehill Loeb, 75, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Crowley, La. Visitation will be held at Lakewood South Funeral Home (McClure Rd.) in Jackson, Ms. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9-11 am with the service immediately thereafter.

Janett was born in Pascagoula, Ms. on August 25, 1939, the daughter of the late T.G. and Mable Hodges Tannehill, moving to Jackson, Ms. at a young age. While a native of Mississippi, she lived many years in the New Orleans area.

She graduated from Forest Hill High School, Jackson, Ms. in 1957 and received her BS from St. Joseph’s College, Standish, Me. in 2000.

Janett was a self-employed administrator in the construction industry the majority of her career except when she was employed as office manager and public relations liaison by the consulting engineer that coordinated the numerous companies building the Crescent City Connection in New Orleans.

Dedicated to the objectives of patriotism, education and historic preservation, she was a member of the Order of the First Families of Mississippi, the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, Daughters of the American Colonists and the Daughters of the American Revolution. As Grand Matron of the New Orleans chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star she headed up benefits for local charities. Janett was also a founding member of the carnival Krewe of Eve and long-time member of the Krewe of Venus.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita and husband, Richard Mouton of Abbeville, La. and son, C. Richard Patterson and Vivian Merk of Abita Springs, La; son, David C. Loeb and wife Chesney of Marrero, La. and son, Steven B. Loeb and wife Leslie of Baton Rouge, La.; her sister, Brenda T. and husband Len Graham of Cleveland, Tn. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.

Janett had the heart of a mother, the mind of a business woman and the spirit of a rebel. She was dearly loved.
