Mr. Jimmie Dwain Burns

Mr. Burns was born in Springhill, Louisiana, on July 21, 1947, to James Otha Burns and Beatrice Colvin Burns. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Donnie Ray Burns.

Survivors include his two sons, Justin Burns of Edwards, MS, and Kevin and wife Bea Burns of Bolton, MS; grandchildren: Lexie Burns, Tristan Burns, and Claire Abelle Burns; sister and brother-in law, Linda and Buddy Meyer of McComb, nephews: Todd and wife Jessica Meyer of Meridian, Clay and wife Kristen Meyer of Brandon, and niece: Jan Meyer Hayes and husband Perry of Germantown, TN, along with their children.

He graduated from Provine High School, Jackson, Hinds Junior College and attended Ole Miss. His career began as a pharmacy tech in Jackson and afterwards he worked in a variety of sales postions in several fields.

Mr. Burns was a sports enthusiast who spent many enjoyable days in the woods and on lakes hunting and fishing with his sons and family. In his earlier years he played league tennis in Jackson with many of his friends. He was an avid fan of the Ole Miss Rebels. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS, on Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 a.m.
