

Jonathan Victor Boling, 34, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 on the Salmon River in Idaho. Visitation will be held Monday, June 11 at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS, at 9:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with burial at Lakewood Memorial Park. There will be a memorial service in Buena Vista, CO on Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m.
Jon was born in Fort Worth, TX on January 23, 1978, and grew up in Jackson, MS. He graduated from Northwest Rankin HS in 1997, and went on to the University of Mississippi where he played on the rugby team and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He spent three summers playing baritone bugle in drum & bugle corps, first with Southwind and then the prestigious Cavaliers.
He moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 2005, where he enjoyed his passion for adventure. He was an avid rafter and skilled rafting guide. His great love for the water was passed on by his grandfather, Dr. Sam Johnson. Jon took every chance to enjoy the beauty of the Colorado outdoors with his black lab at his side.
Jon was employed by C.R. Goodman Distribution Co. and was a connoisseur of craft beer, with a dream of one day opening his own brewery in Oxford, MS.
He is survived by his loving girlfriend, Karen Jensen of Colorado Springs; mother, Margaret Sudduth of Jackson; father, Vic Boling of Vicksburg; sisters Emily (Danny) Giffen of Birmingham, AL; Elizabeth (Dan) Eveland of Madisonville, KY; grandmother, Peggy Boswell Johnson of Jackson; a niece and nephew; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved black lab, Morgan, and leaves his loyal dogs, Cady and Dixie.
