Laura Mae was born on August 15, 1919, in Magnolia, MS to the late William Wavely and
Mattie Martha Hancock Cleveland. She graduated from Central High School in 1939.
Laura Mae married Richard Allen Hill in October of 1940 and was married for 46 years
before Mr. Hill passed. Together they owned and operated Redd & Hill Sand and Gravel.
Laura Mae was an active member of First Baptist Church in Raymond, MS where she
enjoyed keeping in touch with her many friends. But most importantly, Laura Mae
cherished her family and close friends.
Laura Mae is survived by her four children;
daughters, Dean Weeks, Linda Volz (Carl), Carolyn Dyar (Hilton); and son, Richard Hill
(Cassie); and grandchildren Carl Volz Jr (Terri), Christie Volz, Julie Weeks, Travis Dyar (Jessica),
Jason Dyar (Dee), Trey Hill (Shelly), and Brittney Hill and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on
Thursday August 4th, 2016. A chapel service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Lakewood Memorial Park.
