Obituary of Madelyne Rose King
Madelyne Rose King was born on March 21, 2022, in Metairie, Louisiana. She was loved and adored even before her birth. She responded right away to her parents' voices and would calm instantly when she heard them. Her sweet spirit and contentment were immediately evident. She loved sitting in her swing, being outside, watching her big brother play, bike rides with her mommy in her Mobi wrap, listening to her mom and dad’s music, and her long evening walks in the stroller. She loved her closest lady friends Laura and Courtney, and she especially loved her dog Lily who always watched over her. Maddie was a little fashionista, and didn't mind being dressed up or wearing bows in her hair or even hats or bonnets. She loved her little sunglasses and only fussed when she had to take them off. She watched faces intently when people spoke, as if she understood every word they said. Her eyes were always engaged and expressive, and if she gave you the gift of her smile, as she did so freely once she figured out how, you couldn't help being thrilled. She smiled with her whole body, eyes laughing, arms flailing, feet kicking. Her smile was like instant sunshine. She is survived by her mother and father, Michelle Herrington King and John Michael King, Jr., and her big brother Liam Herrington, big brother Noah King, and big sister Lucy King. She is preceded by her grandfather, John Michael King, Sr., her brother, John Michael King, III, and great grandparents, L.M. Everett, Katie Everett, William King and Dovie King. Maddie is also survived by her grandparents Beverly King, Terri Blackstock, Ken Blackstock, and Don Herrington; great grandparents Jo Ann Weathersby and Bill Weathersby, Omer (Sam) Ward and June Ward, and her aunt Angie Butkowski, uncle Robert Butkowski, and cousin Trey Butkowski; her aunt Marie Pine, uncle Ross Pine, cousins Parker Pine and Paxton Pine. She has many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives, most of whom she didn't have time to meet in her short four months. We know she is still bringing joy in Heaven, blessing those who went Home before us. We are eternally grateful for the time we were given with her, and we look forward to seeing her beautiful face again when it's our time to join her there.
