Margie Marks McCrory, age 88 died Monday, April 18, 2011 in Jackson, MS. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home chapel in Jackson with Dr. Merle Messer and Rev. George McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood South. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2011.
Mrs. McCrory was born in Tchula, MS on July 12, 1922 and was a devoted homemaker for her family.
Her love for her Savior inspired her for many years into service for Him. She volunteered in Nursing Homes throughout Jackson as a pianist and a sitter when needed. She was an active member of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church until she and our father moved to Riggs Manor.
Her last five and a half years have been spent at Riggs Manor in Raymond, where she continued offering herself in service. She found not just a home there but a family.
Many thanks go to Riggs Manor for making our Mom’s last days meaningful and joyous.
Also we send thanks to the staff in the Emergency Department, 2SE, 1CU, 2SW and Respiratory Therapy Department at CMMC for treating our Mom with the upmost compassion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years James “Mac” Leroy McCrory and her parents George and Lorene Garnett Marks. Two sisters, Eleanor Edwards and Irene Marks and one brother, Bud Marks.
Survivors include her son Barry McCrory of Memphis, TN and a daughter, Debbie Schrock and her husband Joe of Raymond, MS. A sister, Dot Hughes of Yazoo City, MS and a sister-in-law Elsie Marks of West, MS. Three grandchildren, Chris McCrory, Jason Murphy and his wife Katie and Emelie McCarroll and her husband Billy. Five great grandchildren, Jennifer Haynes, Shelby McCarroll, Sebastian McCarroll, Jackson Murphy and Chloe Murphy and numerous nieces and nephews.
