Mary Dale Jones

Mary Dale Jones, 88, transcended from this life to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 12, 2017, from her daughter’s home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Lakewood South Funeral Home, 430 McCluer Rd, Jackson, MS at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park.

She was born September 7, 1928 in Okolona, MS. She had been a resident of Jackson since 1947 until she moved to Mendenhall in 2014. She married the love of her life, Webb Jones, in September 1947.

Dale, as most knew her, was employed by Liberty Super Markets most of her working life as their bookkeeper.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Webb J. Jones and her loving son-in-law, Jerry S. Ashley.

Survivors include her son, Freddie L. Jones (Mary) of Brandon; daughter, Deborah J. Ashley of Mendenhall; grandchildren, Denise and Beau Abel (Ginger). She had four great grandchildren, Leanna, Eli, Ethan and Asher Abel all of whom she loved dearly.

Honoring their grandmother and great grandmother as pall bearers are Denise, Beau, Leanne, Eli, Ethan, Asher Abel and Zachary Lee. They will carry her to her final resting place.
